video from August 14, 2010 demo

Hello everyone,

I have been back from Israel and Palestine for almost a week, and thanks be to God I had no problems getting back home.

There are some videos of the events I described in my blog. I will post them as I find them.

This is a video of international and Israeli activists being arrested in Hebron on August 14. It was my second last demonstration, and one during which the army was extremely rough with the protesters. Two ISMers, people I had gotten to know and respect, got arrested that day. One was grabbed by the neck, the other thrown to the ground and pinned down by the soldiers. One was falsely charged with "assaulting a soldier". The video shows pretty clearly where the violence was coming from.

The arrests were filmed in very slow motion. In a way it is good because it shows how these people were taken, a problem is that the sound was slowed down a lot as well and it sounds a bit strange in my opinion.

You can see me in the video wearing a gray shirt with green stripes, I was also yelling "what are you doing" at the soldiers.

Unfortunately my wallet was stolen and some of the videos I had on my camera were in it. I had one video saved on my computer, when I have some time I will upload it on Youtube.

  1. You have been back from Palestine for almost a week? That's strange, since there is no Palestine. God gave that land to the Jewish people, the Jews built Jerusalem over 2000 years ago, and Jersualem is the capitol of Israel. Nobody has the right to tell the Jews where they can build houses, any more than any foreigner has the right to tell Americans what part of American to build houses in. We are all tired of such anti-Semitic rhetoric.

  2. Palestine is mentioned in the Book of Joel, verses 3:1-4 Joel 3:1-4 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink. Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompense? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompense upon your own head;

    Race does not matter, as God makes clear there is no more difference between Jews and Gentiles. What matters is faith in Christ Jesus. Read Galatians 3:28.

    The land belongs as much to Palestinian Christians and Muslims as it does to Israeli Jews. All have lived there for many generations. God loves justice, and there must be justice there for all of them. None can dominate the other. Injustice brings war, justice brings peace.

    Your accusation of "antisemitic rhetoric" on my blog is baseless. If you are tired of seeing things that are not on my blog, I would suggest you don't read it.

    Salaam.

  3. Apparently, any criticism of Israel (even when it is correct) is seen as "anti-semitism". As Tom said, the Holy Land belongs to all people. I am a Muslim and I lament the suffering of my brothers and sisters in Palestine. But, I do not condemn all Jews for the crimes of the Zionists. There are many Jews who are actively working for a just solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict. Let all people, whether Jew, Christian or Muslim live in the Holy Land in peace and justice. And let all injustice, whether at the hands of extremist Jews, Christians or Muslims, disappear forever. God does not love the unjust. You should know that Forrest GOP.
