Brave commander in action

I haven't seen anyone in uniform push civilians around and threaten them with such heroic courage. That is why this section is devoted entirely to him. I'm sure he will get a medal.

* I accidentally said he is the army commander. He is actually commander of the Border Police. They are a military unit that has the powers that both the army and police have. They are far more brutal than either and are feared most by Palestinians. I have heard that about 50% of their ranks are composed of Bedouins and Palestinians who have decided to collaborate with the army. They are often more vicious that the Israeli Jewish soldiers.

Face off (2)

Soldiers evicting people from another shop. Paulette was one of them.

Army commander who pushed many people around, including me. For some reason I attracted a lot of his anger. Perhaps I was demoralizing his men.

Elderly Palestinian men who were allowed to leave the area.

Army assault commences

Paulette standing by the gate, seconds before the soldiers rushed out. She placed herself inside a store and had to be roughly pushed out.

Soldiers move into the crowd, pushing people away. They then charged into the shops.

Taking down the doors

Some of the Palestinians tried to prevent the assault by taking down the doors to the shops. The hope was that if there were no doors, the soldiers would not be able to weld them shut.
