One day the soldiers got annoyed with us doing checkpoint watch, so they set up a flying checkpoint in our neighbourhood, a metre or two from our apartment.

Your path of activism has been fascinating to follow, too, as you experience an emotional roller coaster. I, too, so loved Israel when I was younger and learning the truth about its origins and its behavior was deeply painful. Watching an icon crumble before your eyes, finding out that almost nothing you had been taught was true can be excruciating.
