The Pope was going to stop by Aida during his visit to Israel and this platform was built to receive him. The Israeli government said no to the idea, because having him speak by the separation wall would send a bad image.

Many of the refugees do not recognize Israel. In spite of the pain and injustice they have faced and continue to face, I think the only possible outcome is a 2 state solution. Otherwise I fear we will only be replacing one form of occupation with another.
